Pressure Transmitter
Pressure Transmitter
It is an instrument used for the measurement of the pressure of any process line as well as transmitting a loop signal (4-20ma)to a Programmable Logic Control or Distributed Control System. In other words, Any process line pressure on the pressure transmitter acts as a force on the diaphragm – depending on the applied pressure the diaphragm either expands or compresses, and the resistance value changes accordingly. The value is then transmitted as an electrical signal 4-20mA.
Working Principal of Pressure Transmitter
The picture shown above easy to define the principle of pressure transmitter.
when input pressure, strikes the sensor, the sensor signal goes to the A/D section in this section converts an analog signal into a digital signal after the signal goes to the microprocessor, the microprocessor is the heart of the transmitter. it signal analysis or corrections are performed in the microprocessor and Digital Representation on it. The last section is D/A conversion in this section digital process value is converted into an analog value. This analog value is an output of the pressure transmitter. Its signal goes to PLC or DCS.
Types Of Pressure Transmitter
- Gauge Pressure Transmitter
- Absolute Pressure Transmitter
- Differential-Pressure Transmitter
- Multivariable Pressure Transmitter
